Save On Wasting Fresh Produce!

Yummy Fruits And Veggies

We can all agree it’s amazing to have fresh fruits and veggies on hand! I love it, and my girls love it. But hot damn, they go bad so quickly. I have a tip for you that is so simple. It can save you so much time and money! Now, who doesn’t like to save money. I know I do.

Fruits and veggies can be so expensive. It hurts my heart a little bit every time I have to throw something out. We are lucky that we have a really cheap farmers market, but it still sucks to lose so much produce.

Time To Save

Like I said, this trick is so stinking simple, I forget about it all the time.

I had some broccoli, cauliflower, peppers, and carrots I knew were going to go bad soon. I didn’t get to use them when I meal prepped so they sat in my fridge looking sad.

All I did was cut them up, put them in bags, and popped them in the freezer!

DONE.

That’s it! Now they will last 8-10 months! Isn’t that insane!? And they are so much easier to cook up this way too. They are already cut up and prepped. I can throw them on a baking sheet and roast them. Or I can steam them in the microwave for a few minutes to throw on my girls plate for dinner.

Mind-Blown

This only took my 10 minuets. It saved me a good chunk of money. It also saved me a ton of time.

You can do this with fruits too! *Biggest thing to keep in mind with this it to try to get the fruits and veggies pretty dry before putting them in bags. This will keep them from sticking together when they freeze!*

Such a simple thing can help so much. What are some little tricks you’ve learned to save some time and money in the kitchen?!
